Wrexham-based Chetwood Financial named on Wales Fast Growth 50
Wrexham-based Chetwood Financial has been named on the 2022 Wales Fast Growth 50 list.
The list celebrates the 50 fastest-growing firms in the Welsh economy. It champions high-growth, home-grown businesses that make a significant contribution to jobs and wealth creation.
Founded in 2016, Chetwood is both a digital bank and a fintech with a mission to use technology to make people better off.
Its brand-led consumer-facing propositions – LiveLend, BetterBorrow, SmartSave and Wave – were designed alongside customers to ensure this mission is achieved. Through its true Banking as a Service (BaaS) offering, the firm also partners with other businesses to enable them to develop financial products and propositions that put the customer first, all with no upfront investment.
The Chetwood team has grown by 70 people over the past 12 months. Its turnover increased 70% in the same period.
“We are delighted to be named in this year’s Wales Fast Growth 50,” said Chetwood’s founder and CEO, Andy Mielczarek. “It’s a clear indication that we’re delivering value to our customers and the Welsh economy.”
He continued: “The cost-of-living crisis has laid bare the need for better, faster and more innovative financial products that serve everyone, particularly marginalised consumers. We are proud to be driving this change, not just through our own range of financial brands, but also our BaaS offering, which is further disrupting the way financial services are conceived and delivered.
“But we’re only scratching the surface and expect our growth over recent years to continue for many more years to come. To that end, we’re always on the hunt for great people to join our mission and help us transform the world of financial services.”
