Herts Challenger Bank plants trees for the jubilee
A Hertfordshire Challenger Bank has celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee by donating 600 trees as part of a royal initiative.
Redwood Bank is marking Her Majesty’s 70-year reign by joining the Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC), a unique tree planting which is encouraging people to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.
The first of the 600 trees donated by the Bank to Hertfordshire County Showground, based near Redbourn, was planted on Friday, May 20, at a special ceremony attended by Lady Salisbury and the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire Robert Voss CBE.
Redwood representatives Tracey Lester, Head of HR, Andrew Shannon, ESG & Marketing Officer, and Business Development Manager Nicola Blake also attended.
Gary Wilkinson, CEO and Co-Founder of Redwood Bank, said: “What better way to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee than by planting 600 trees and contributing to the environment. We are proud to be based in Hertfordshire, we’re proud to be supporting the county’s innovative and agile SME community, and we’re proud of this great county – so it was an easy decision to enhance the county’s showground by donating these trees.”
