Sheffield headquartered marketing agency Jaywing has announced the appointment of Karl Stones, formerly Creative Director at BJL, as Executive Creative Director. Having produced iconic work for brands including British Airways, Swinton Insurance, Subaru and ASDA, and the UK’s first ‘slow’ TV ad aired on Channel 4 for Ronseal, Stones says he’s passionate about delivering work that builds brands and drives sales, but which impacts on surrounding culture too.
“Outside of our Adland bubble, most consumers don’t want ads. But they do want to be entertained, moved and feel a connection. Jaywing sits at the intersection between data, craft and technology, ideally placed to create really interesting and memorable ideas for brands looking to grow and thrive in our always-on world.”
An active member of the D&AD North board and a Campaign Big Awards judge, Stones is an advocate for Northern creativity. He will oversee creative output at Jaywing whilst building on a “strong environment that’s empowering for employees to produce the best results for our clients.”
In addition, Tom Rigden joins the business as Commercial Director from Enjoy Digital, having helped the agency grow from young start-up to established agency over the past nine years.
Of the move, Rigden, says “What excites me most about Jaywing is its ability to leverage world class data science, award-winning AI and martech to solve complex challenges that have traditionally been beyond the remit and capability of brand and performance marketing agencies. This, combined with the scale and breadth of the expertise and tools at our disposal within Jaywing, is uncommon. I truly believe that we have a powerful and unique proposition that fits with the changing tides of market demand.”
Also on-board are new recruits to Jaywing’s client services team, Account Directors Hanna Wade from London based CRM specialist WDMP, and Harriet Bell from Melbourne creative agency By All Means. Senior Account Manager, Suzy Gott, also joins the team from Intermarketing Agency.
Rob Shaw, Jaywing CEO said: “Karl and Tom along with Hanna, Harriet and Suzy are fantastic additions to our business and bring with them invaluable experience and fresh thinking. We’re looking forward to a positive year ahead and to delivering best in class solutions for our clients across all areas of integrated marketing.”
