Sutherland Mortgage Services has announced a five-year, seven-figure deal with global information technology company Unisys Corporation to launch a bespoke outsourced mortgage servicing platform for the UK market.
The third-party servicer, which has around $250 billion in mortgage assets under management worldwide, enlisted Unisys to develop a unique ecosystem based on its Elevate™ platform, designed to deliver efficient, scalable and regulatory compliant omnichannel banking to its financial services customers.
Unisys banking technology, which already supports approximately 40 percent of the UK mortgage market, has been stood up for Sutherland to support multi-client mortgage servicing, migration and management of legacy books, rapid scalability and diversification into other asset classes such as savings and banking.

Launched last year, Elevate is an end-to-end digital banking software platform and suite of applications for financial institutions of all sizes. It can be adapted to fit a range of business needs, including the origination and processing of mortgages, loans, savings and current accounts, and can be delivered via mobile device or tablet, internet browser or inside a branch – anytime, anywhere – for an optimal customer experience.

Sutherland Mortgage Servicing UK offers outsourced services that include loan origination, processing, servicing, underwriting and analytics. It is a division of Sutherland Global Services, a US-based business process and technology management organisation that operates in more than 60 locations, within 20 countries.
Sutherland has so far originated around $45 billion of mortgages for its clients in the US, and has over $250 billion of mortgage assets currently under management. It is aiming to replicate that success in the UK by providing highly efficient mortgage services driven by the customer, with the newest technology at the forefront.
