Specialist lender Together hires Midlands corporate relationship director

Business banking expert Sonia Mann has joined Together as its corporate relationship director for the Midlands as the UK-wide specialist lender continues its ambitious growth strategy.

Sonia, who has more than 20 years’ experience in business development, will handle corporate client relationships for Together, which currently lends more than £3.47 billion.

She joins from Santander, where she was a sales relationship manager, responsible for growing the bank’s asset finance arm by creating innovative ways to attract new business.

At Together she will be responsible for building and fostering key relationships with corporate clients, providing finance for a wide range of customers from large businesses to high net worth individual investors across the Midlands.

Sonia, who lives in Leamington Spa, said: “Joining such a well-established business will be a fantastic new challenge for me personally as it continues to build on its position as a leader in the specialist finance industry.

“I have more than two decades’ experience in leading and inspiring successful teams to deliver quality results. I’m really looking forward to bringing this experience to my new position, widening Together’s reach in the Midlands – and providing the finance businesses need to turn their plans into reality.”

Sonia started her career in financial services as a support agent at the corporate business banking arm of Barclays, based in The Strand, London. She worked for more than a decade for the RBS Group, including as a Natwest banking business manager in Birmingham, where she managed a large portfolio of business clients.

From 2016, Sonia was a client relations manager at RBS Group’s invoice finance arm, leading a team of assistant relationship managers, before joining Santander Asset Finance UK.

In her current post, she will report to Andrew Charnley, head of the new corporate relationship team at Together. The team provides finance for clients seeking to raise capital or acquire property or land, and typically, may seek to borrow £1 million or more.
