Salary:  £50,000- £55,000 + Bonus, London Weighting & Benefits

Overview
Proactively support the development, monitoring and optimisation of collection strategies across Western Europe retail portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Collections strategies to ensure that they are best in class and adequately deliver the business plans for credit losses and provisions.
  • Develop Collection strategy tracking MI by policies, channel/product-level scorecard.
  • Communicate MI and analytic results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Analyse data utilising commonly available data mining techniques contained in available statistical packages.
  • Perform data analysis utilising modelling techniques, such as logistic regression, CHAID and decision tree software.
  • Participate in other important team-building functions, training, and resource re-allocation.
  • Share Credit Risk best practice across Western Europe and the wider Retail Bank.
  • Develop strong working relationships both within Credit Risk and wider functions, such as Collection operations, particularly in-country teams. 
  • Present analytics findings both within peer reviews and to Senior Stakeholders to secure buy-in, sign-off and action.
  • Where appropriate, support portfolio management meetings, including Portfolio Performance Reviews and Country Management Boards.
  • Timely, accurate and efficient production of analytic / tracking / MI suites.
  • Review and highlight areas of concern and opportunity, to support the prioritisation of the wider team’s activities.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience of collection MI development and analysis within a retail banking, preferably consumer lending environment.
  • Very strong quantitative and technical skills, demonstrable analytic aptitude.
  • Experience of collection strategy implementation into complex decision systems.
  • Attitude of continuous improvement and development, coupled with an ability to assess the “status quo” and challenge where necessary.
  • High level of attention to detail and right-first-time approach.
  • Good knowledge of risk profile assessment based data analysis.
  • Ability to deliver automated MI solutions and an understanding of leading indicators of underlying portfolio performance.
  • Role will require some travel.
  • Knowledge of another European language advantageous; Portuguese, Spanish, German, Italian & Greek.
