Location:  MiltonKeynes
Salary:  £25,000- £36,000 + Bonus / Benefits

Job Purpose
Support successful value management of Unsecured Collections portfolios by:

  • Solving complex business problems and providing practical value based solutions.
  • Taking accountability for an area of Unsecured strategies/analysis/policies, monitoring performance, clearly communicating issues, developing and recommending changes where appropriate.
  • Ensuring that strong links are maintained between Risk, Finance, Operations, Litigation and other key business areas.
  • Minimising hundreds of £m’s annual credit losses.
  • Designing Unsecured Collections for the arrears book which will include strategy segmentation, contact strategies, Litigation, Trace strategies, Hardship strategies.
  • Supporting other areas on new strategies and products.

The Role

  • Conduct detailed statistical data analysis using appropriate analysis software (eg SAS) at a good level.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of competitor and market activity and take account t of this when predicting performance.
  • Consider the full business implications of any proposed change and always recommend pragmatic solutions.
  • Use expert judgement and fresh thinking to analyse and predict the outcome of unprecedented business strategies.
  • Be the technical credit expert within a domain of collections strategy and act as advisor to Risk management and other business areas.
  • Develop and own reports to be run by MI teams.
  • Ensure that Risk senior management and key business stakeholders are presented with a clear and sophisticated analysis of business performance.
  • Determination to maintain momentum when obstacles arise.
  • Work as part of a wider business team to ensure that Risk input is always sought when business proposals are formulated.

Candidate Profile

  • Track record of successful delivery in a statistical analysis role of similar complexity and level, preferably within a credit risk or collections function. 
  • Expert programming skills in at least one statistical analysis tools (e.g. SAS or SPSS).
  • Degree in a numerate subject (e.g. Maths, Statistics, Operational Research, Physics, Engineering) or equivalent.
  • Prior exposure of managing portfolios and/or implementing strategies in order to drive business change/benefits - desirable.
  • Collections Strategy and/or Analytics experience - desirable.
  • Able to take a pragmatic attitude when dealing with uncertainty.
