Walker Morris joins the Money Advice Liaison Group PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 01 February 2018
Walker Morris has become a member of the Money Advice Liaison Group (MALG), reinforcing its commitment to improving its financial services offering and the advice given to those facing financial difficulty.

MALG was formed in 1987 and is a not-for-profit organisation whose purpose is to encourage organisations to 'work together to improve the lives of people with problem debt'. MALG membership is open to all public, private and third sector organisations which have an interest in matters relating to personal debt, from financial capability and lending through to debt collection and money advice. Walker Morris has taken up National Business Membership and joined two of MALG’s active regional groups in Yorkshire/the North East and Scotland.

Walker Morris is proud to be one of only three law firms that are currently members of MALG. Through its involvement in MALG, Walker Morris aims to make a positive contribution to MALG’s aims of promoting discussion, sharing best practice and debating hot topics to improve people's financial future.

Bob Winnington, Executive Officer of MALG, commented: “With no commercial, regulatory, or political agenda, MALG is uniquely placed to bring together all the ‘threads’ of the money advice journey. Our regular national and regional meetings and our annual conference provide an opportunity to interactively agree upon joint action to overcome the key challenges facing the money advice and wider sectors. Walker Morris’ contribution to this will be hugely valuable to this and we are pleased to have them on board.”

Rob Aberdein, Partner at Walker Morris, added: "We are delighted to announce we have become members of MALG. MALG is vital in bringing a diverse and different range of organisations together to help raise awareness of problem debt. Our membership will allow us to align ourselves with other organisations that are able to work together and exchange ideas in the prevention of personal financial difficulties."
