Official Public Record launches customisable company profiles PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 13 September 2017
The Gazette, the UK’s Official Public Record, today announced it has launched customisable company profiles for all UK businesses registered at Companies House.  These profiles enable business owners and operators to protect against fraud and demonstrate corporate compliance.  In addition, the customisable profiles can be used by companies to identify and attract new business.  The Gazette is a trusted, reliable and official source of information, accessed by more than 175,000 potential customers every month.

Every registered UK business has a standard company profile on The Gazette. This includes Gazette notices and information from Companies House, providing a complete and unbiased picture of a company on an official platform. Companies that sign up for customisable profiles can add in a bespoke description of their organisation, products and services. They can also add social media links, contact details, website URLs and company logos. As part of the customisation package companies can download The Gazette digital badge, which can be added on their website and email communications with a link back to their verified profile.

Information held on the official public record is permanent, allowing businesses to save time by sending out the URL for bids, tenders and quotations for work. Businesses can use their profile page to demonstrate their legitimacy as a company and to showcase important information, such as how long they have been in operation and their compliance with business governance. Official social media handles can be added as part of their profile page customisation, which can be crucial for reputation management and building customer confidence.

Even if a company has yet to build an official website, if they sign up for a company profile, they can direct potential customers to a verified web page containing important company information. The Gazette website receives approximately 17 million page views every year and the sophisticated search function allows potential customers to find the relevant business.

Janine Eves Business and Operations Director at The Gazette, said: “It has never been more important to demonstrate transparency, or to secure a strong reputation, by appearing on one of the world’s best-established sources of public record. Companies that sign up for customisable profiles can differentiate themselves from competitors in their industry, demonstrate corporate compliance and help reduce the likelihood of falling victim to corporate fraud. UK plc benefits when firms are able to make informed business decisions based on officially validated data.

“Given the volumes of businesses operating in the UK it can be difficult for business owners and operators to differentiate their enterprises, especially when other companies may have the same name or similar offering. Customisable profiles enable companies to direct prospective business partners and customers to the official public record to validate they are a legitimate enterprise and access information from Companies House, including annual accounts and details of the registered company directors.”
