F&P Sponsors appoints new Head of Business Development PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 04 September 2017
Peer-to-peer (P2P) funding specialist F&P Sponsors has appointed Rolly Bakshi as Head of Business Development, to help drive growth with a particular focus on supporting the funding aspirations of companies in the property sector.

Rolly joins from Metro Bank where he worked as a Commercial Analyst specialising in Real Estate, expanding existing relationships by way of further lending, structuring new loans, and writing and reviewing credit applications. He has also held new business roles at Lloyds and Barclays.

Ivor Freedman, Director at F&P Sponsors says Rolly’s credit and business development experience makes him a valuable asset: “He understands the needs of customers in the property sector and can identify where non-traditional lending will be of particular support. He is also well positioned to use his wider credit and finance experience in the broad variety of sectors that we work in.”

Rolly believes that widening the appeal of P2P will play an important part in his initial priorities: “I was attracted to F&P Sponsors because P2P lending provides a fast and efficient way for businesses to acquire funding in a climate where traditional lending is not always available,” he explains.

“However, not enough companies understand how P2P lending can work for them or consider it a more expensive option than traditional lending. This provides an exciting opportunity in terms of educating businesses, helping them realise how this form of lending can help turn businesses around.”

F&P Sponsors has already secured over £100 million of funding for a portfolio in excess of 250 businesses in a wide variety of sectors. One of the most recent was accountants SKS Business Services that secured an investment of more than £450,000 to complete three acquisitions, expand its service offering, and grow its turnover six-fold from £500,000 to £3.3 million in only three years.
