Midlands based chartered accountants Lancaster-Haskins has strengthened its offering to clients with the appointment of an experienced finance director.

James Roden has joined the firm as partner, bringing with him a specialism in mergers and acquisitions. His arrival coincides with the acquisition by the firm of next door practice Thorpe Thompson, and reflects a continued ambition to offer a comprehensive and professional accountancy service to businesses across the UK.

James, 42 and from Codsall, has worked for a number of years across the Midlands and Wolverhampton, and brings with him valuable experience of working in industry. He joins a growing team at Lancaster’s expert in corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions and disposals.

James said: “I’m delighted to join Lancaster-Haskins and am very much looking forward to promoting our services within the existing client base as well as looking to new clients.

“This is an exciting time for the firm as it looks to the future with confidence and ambition, and I am pleased to be a part of that vision and growth.”

Partner Ed Thompson said: “We are delighted to welcome James to the team. His business and industrial experience will be put to good use as he is set to play a crucial role in delivering a full range of business development services to clients.

“His appointment comes at a time of growth for Lancaster-Haskins and I’m proud to announce that we have recently acquired my father’s practice, Thorpe Thompson – a renowned and respected firm particularly within the Black Country.”

Lancaster Haskins was founded in 1897 and with a staff of 40 has cemented itself as one of the leading chartered accountancy firms in the Black Country. Located just outside Wolverhampton on the Tettenhall Road, it prides itself on dealing with the commercial and personal issues involved in running a business, from start-ups to large groups of companies.

James and his brother Andrew have represented Great Britain at canoeing in the C2 category, and still regularly compete on behalf of Stafford and Stone Canoe Club.
