Dollar UK's virtual cycle raises thousands for both Helen & Douglas House and Rainbows Hospice PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 31 May 2017
In February 2017, members of the Dollar UK IT teams based in the Nottingham and Bicester offices concluded their impressive virtual cycle to Gdansk (Poland), having raised money for Rainbows Hospice and Helen & Douglas House Hospice, who both provide care for young people and their families.

Since September 2016, members of the Dollar UK team clocked up miles on exercise bikes in the office during team meetings, break times and before and after work. Teams competed to be the first to complete the journey of 1,148 miles and to raise as much money as possible. All participating teams combined cycled a whopping 28,605 miles in total.

Then, from the beginning of January, the teams took their competition to the high streets, when they moved their bikes to The Money Shop store on Upper Parliament Street, Nottingham, where they attracted a crowd of supporters. Following this, local businesses from both areas donated prizes for an email auction that raised further funds for both causes.

As a result of this entire initiative, an amazing £4,379.39 has been raised for Helen & Douglas House and a fantastic £4,830.02 for Rainbows Hospice, and cheques were recently presented to both organisations.
