Comment on CML gross lending estimate for February from Richard Pike at Phoebus Software PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 24 March 2017
Richard Pike, Phoebus Software sales and marketing director, says “Although the CML’s estimate for mortgage lending in February is lower than January, it isn’t all doom and gloom.  The market is still in a fairly healthy position, up on February last year.  The main focus for brokers now is to help those millions, reported only yesterday, that have fallen onto SVR’s.  There is real opportunity to enable these people get a better deal and further increase the growth in the remortgage market, while interest rates are low.

“There is always speculation regarding an increase in the base rate, but currently there is also an air of caution from both consumers and those that set policy.”
