Forum of Private Business sends the Taxman a warning notice PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 11 January 2017
The Forum of Private Business has sounded a note of caution to HMRC following their announcement that they are to reassess their plans to centralise their offices from the existing 170 to 13 regional centres.

Chief Executive of the Forum of Private Business, Ian Cass commented, ‘When HMRC first announced that they were to rationalise their delivery, members of the Forum voiced concern that the existing service would deteriorate even further as local offices closed. Today’s announcement from the National Audit Office that their proposals were not workable and are being reviewed underlines the need for better planning. As the revised timings and structures are being considered we would encourage HMRC to focus on the businesses they are supporting, in providing both a fast and personable service, rather than simply driving for cost savings.’
