ThinCats appoints Damon Walford as new Chief Development Officer PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 31 October 2016
Peer-to-peer lender ThinCats has appointed Damon Walford as its new Chief Development Officer, as the company celebrates surpassing £200m of loans issued on the platform. Damon will be working alongside ThinCats CEO John Mould to help grow ThinCats’ existing business and capitalise on new opportunities, with a particular focus on originating loans and widening the platform’s network of sponsors across the UK.

ThinCats, Europe’s first secured peer to peer business lender, reached the £200m milestone this month and to continue this momentum, Damon has been tasked with improving the customer journey for introducers, borrowers and lenders, making the process as seamless as possible.

Damon has more than 20 years’ experience working in the financial sector, with a particular focus on SME lending. Prior to his role at ThinCats, he spent four years as Managing Director of Aldermore Invoice Finance, after coming from RBS Invoice Finance, where he managed teams focusing on the asset based lending sector.

Damon said: “After many years working within more traditional lending environments, it’s hugely exciting to be part of this fast-developing sector. I want ThinCats to be the first port of call for SMEs in search of finance and I hope my experience can help sustain its position as Europe’s largest secured peer-to-peer platform.”

Kevin Caley, Chairman and Founder of ThinCats, said: “Damon is a fantastic appointment and brings a vast amount of expertise to the role. His experience consulting and working within high-street lenders and challenger banks will be hugely valuable in driving ThinCats forward and enriching our offering for lenders and borrowers.”
