Comment on the Apprenticeship Levy update PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 27 October 2016
Kelly Ball, Managing Director of leading apprenticeship provider Positive Outcomes said: “This week’s levy confirmation is certainly a welcome development for us at Positive Outcomes. The Government has clearly listened to initial feedback on the Levy and administered changes accordingly.

"We’re pleased that the levy is set to go ahead as planned and we hope that the amendments will encourage more companies to take on apprentices and benefit from the many advantages that apprenticeships offer – not just to young people, but also to employers themselves.

"We’re committed to supporting young people from all backgrounds, so the fact that £60million will be invested in apprenticeships for young adults from the poorest areas of the country is a welcome inclusion. Apprenticeships are wonderful opportunities for people from all socio-economic backgrounds to develop essential skills that will last throughout their working life.

"We also hope that greater flexibility around the expiry of Levy funds, including the extension of the expiration date, will encourage larger businesses to incorporate apprenticeships into their ongoing recruitment and training strategies.”
