Ultimate finance enables coach operator PDF Print E-mail

Ultimate Finance has helped Liverpool-based Aintree Coachline become one of the first coach companies in the UK to take delivery of a high specification 98-seat double decker BCI Enterprise bus.

The new bus, which has recently been awarded the ‘Best Modern Vehicle Award’ at the world’s biggest bus display, Showbus International, is built by Australian manufacturer BCI at its Chinese assembly plant.

Ultimate Finance provided an asset finance facility that enabled Aintree Coachline to purchase the new bus, which is one of just five imported into the UK, with the remaining four joining Enterprise’s own fleet in Essex.

The BCI Enterprise has been added to the company’s 35-strong coach and bus fleet to provide places for an increasing number of pupils requiring transport between Southport and their private school in Crosby, a contract the company has held for more than 25 years.

Designed for a comfortable ride with forward-facing, high backed seats with three point belts and air conditioning, the double decker bus is also capable of sustained motorway cruising at a limited 62 mph. This enables Aintree Coachline an opportunity to provide high capacity, short to medium-distance private hire work when it is not being used for the school run.

John Cherry, director of Aintree Coachline, believes the new purchase will set the benchmark for coach companies.

“When purchasing double decker buses, coach operators have been limited to second-hand vehicles that rarely become available. Naturally this means that when they are delivered they have already received a great deal of use and are therefore not in the best condition,” he said.

“The fact there is a growing requirement to transport larger numbers should not mean we cannot provide a first class passenger experience.

“We are grateful to Ultimate Finance, with whom we have successfully worked for the past five years for providing us with the necessary finance to enable us to buy such a state-of the art bus

“Andy Ribbins and his team really do understand our business and appreciate why we needed to make such an investment to not only keep up with the growing demand for our services but to also maintain our leading position in such a competitive market.”

Managing director of Ultimate Asset Finance, Andy Ribbins, had no hesitation in providing the finance facility.

“John has a great business with testament to the way he operates being the long contracts he has with many of his customers,” he said.

“He knows that he needs to continue to invest and improve his fleet if he is to attract increasing numbers of people to choose to use his services and stay ahead of the field and we are delighted to help him towards this goal.”
