Commenting on how home ownership has fallen to lowest level in 30 years PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 03 August 2016
Commenting on today’s figures showing that the number of UK homeowners has fallen by a third in ten years, Mark Neal, Managing Director at Homewise, said : “Today’s research highlights the extent to which people are being priced out of home ownership and not just in the South East. The UK is fast becoming a nation of renters and this could reduce living standards, future wealth and could damage the country as a whole. No longer the stepping stone it once was, families and young people are now facing a lifetime stuck in expensive and unstable private renting accommodation. We urge those looking to become a homeowner to save and invest as early as they can. This is equally important for young people as it is for parents and grandparents who may like to help children and grandchildren onto the property ladder.

“One way of doing this is by investing in the current high property prices without owning a home. The Wakeley Life Tenancy investment opportunities are unique to the market and represent a great alternative to other types of residential property investment currently offered in the UK.”
