"P2P continues to bridge funding gap" - comment on latest P2P figures PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 26 July 2016
Commenting on the latest figures from the P2PFA, Kevin Caley, Founder and Chairman of ThinCats, said: “The alternative finance sector continues to expand, and with more than 330,000 borrowers now benefitting from peer-to-peer loans this relatively young sector is playing a major role in bridging the UK’s business funding gap.

“While the sector continues to show strength, growth has eased slightly since Q1, likely as a result of the economic uncertainty in the build up to the referendum and shock to the system following the result. Our economy is in unknown waters, and this will be putting some businesses off borrowing for major new investments, but amid this turbulence the UK’s leading peer-to-peer platforms won’t be sitting on their hands. As a sector we continue to bring disruptive innovations to the market, offering an alternative route for businesses tired of traditional lending institutions.”
