Aphility to feature PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 18 July 2016
Aphility, the National Affordability Assessment centre is delighted to announce that they will now feature as a reliable organisation on the Scottish Government website, www.Scotland’sFinancialHealthService.gov.uk (SFHS), providing a valuable resource to people in financial difficulty.

Scotland’s Financial Health Service is targeted at those concerned about money issues. It was developed by Accountant in Bankruptcy (AiB) to provide a one-stop-shop for those who have money problems or are seeking general help with their financial worries

Individuals in Scotland will now be able to link directly to the Aphility service through SFHS, providing people with an opportunity to improve their financial awareness and to obtain, free of charge, a full and verified affordability assessment detailing their income and expenditure levels together with their current disposable income.

Current statutory debt solutions in Scotland require income and expenditure to be calculated by means of the Common Financial Tool. However, the Aphility assessment can be used to provide detailed and verified information on an individual’s circumstances and help in identifying the most appropriate solution for them. Mark Firth, Aphilty’s Client Services Director said “We are very pleased to be working with AiB and SFHS to provide a comprehensive service for Individuals in Scotland that will assist in their decision making process and help to support their case when dealing with creditors”.

“The support from SFHS demonstrates the increasing need for a national standard of affordability assessments that will help Individuals and Creditors alike to prevent the need of a statutory course of action”.

Alex Reid, Head of Policy Development at AiB said “Since it was launched by Accountant in Bankruptcy at the end of 2014, Scotland’s Financial Health Service has made a difference to thousands of people seeking guidance on how to manage their money. These success stories show what a difference can be made if people know where to find the right help.

“Aphility’s new affordability tool will be a valuable resource, helping people to see what kind of condition their finances are in, allowing them to take the necessary steps to address any issues before they become overwhelming.”
