Apprenticeship provider on a recruitment drive as demand for apprenticeships surge PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 15 June 2016
A surge in demand for apprenticeships from both employers and prospective candidates has seen the availability of roles increase significantly, with providers attempting to keep pace. As such, the availability of roles within the provider industry has also seen a substantial upswing.

In light of the requirement for more apprenticeship provider roles, Positive Outcomes, one of the UK’s leading government-funded training and apprenticeship providers, is ramping up its recruitment efforts as more and more businesses and young adults look to start an apprenticeship.

Ryan Longmate, joint managing director of Positive Outcomes, said: “2016 has seen one of the busiest starts to a year that we’ve ever had, which is indicative of a surge in demand for apprenticeships. We’ve been approached by all types of businesses, in an array of sectors, who’re looking to either take on an apprentice or provide an apprenticeship.”

He continued: “As the industry has experienced growth, so have we, and we are now looking to bring in the right people to help us continue to deliver top-quality apprenticeships.”

The primary role available at Positive Outcomes is as a training advisor. This is a position which offers support and mentorship to learners and apprentices in the workplace, where the advisor is tasked with helping to assess the competence of learners, and raising their skill levels within the workplace.

Ryan Longmate said: “Working in apprenticeships is an extremely rewarding career. You’re effectively guiding the next generation in a prospective career that can see them set up for life. Apprenticeships are a growing force in the world of business, with companies increasingly turning to them as a way of nurturing young talent and moulding them as they work, rather than turning to graduates or the unexperienced. One area where we’ve noticed particular growth is in the estate agent sector, as the property industry has recognised the potential that apprentices offer. Consequently, we’re especially looking to bring in training advisors with a lettings and property management background.”

Positive Outcomes offers company cars as part of its training advisor package thanks to the requirement to go out and meet apprentices and businesses in situ.

Ryan concluded: “We offer a variety of perks as part of the job, but the main attraction is certainly the sense of satisfaction you get having seen an apprentice complete a placement. The range of apprenticeships we offer is vast, which means no day is the same. You can find yourself in some pretty unusual places! However, the sense of reward spreads across the full spectrum of apprenticeship types.”
