Sopra Steria Recruitment announced as new sponsor of Business Disability Forum’s Recruitment Chart PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 10 May 2016
Business Disability Forum (BDF) is pleased to announce that leading recruitment and resourcing organisation, Sopra Steria Recruitment is the new sponsor of BDF's Recruitment Service Provider Charter.

The Recruitment Service Provider Charter provides employers and recruitment organisations with practical steps to becoming disability-smart and advice on how to promote barrier-free recruitment practices.

The Charter encourages businesses to demonstrate their commitment to disability best practice through a series of 10 action points that can be implemented across all businesses no matter what size, industry or sector.

Having become Members of BDF in 2015, Sopra Steria Recruitment join over 300 other disability-smart organisations that are committed to implementing disability best practice as part of a whole organisational approach.

Peter Holliday, Managing Director of Sopra Steria Recruitment said: "We are delighted to be sponsoring BDF's Recruitment Service Provider Charter. Sopra Steria Recruitment is fully committed to barrier free and inclusive recruitment practices, and we hope that our collaboration with BDF will encourage more organisations to recognise disabled people as an untapped talent pool. The Charter plays an integral role in ensuring open, accessible and fair hiring processes across all businesses and industries, and we are proud to be supporting it."

The Charter is designed to improve accessibility and inclusivity across the entire recruitment process – from the initial search for candidates, through to the onboarding process.

For those businesses that get it right, the pool of talented disabled people in the UK is large: over 6.9 million people, or 20% of the working-age population.

David Goodchild, Joint Interim CEO and Director of Membership & Business Development at BDF said: "It is vital organisations realise the potential of disabled candidates and the valuable skills they bring to businesses. The support of our key Members such as Sopra Steria Recruitment is essential to BDF promoting best practice throughout the recruitment industry. We are delighted to be working closely with Sopra Steria Recruitment and hope the Recruitment Service Provider Charter will assist BDF Members and Partners and the wider business community in becoming disability-smart."
