IPA appoints new President PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 25 April 2016
The Insolvency Practitioners Association has appointed Maureen Leslie, founder director of MLM Solutions (with offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and London) as its new President for the coming year. Maureen takes office with immediate effect, and serves as the Association’s figurehead and Chairman of its board of directors for the next twelve months.

Maureen has long been a supporter of the IPA and has been at the forefront of the Association’s engagement with the development of insolvency policy in the UK generally and in particular in Scotland; she has been a member since 1997 and has served as a director on its governing board which is responsible for the management of the IPA including determining policy and strategy. Maureen qualified as an insolvency practitioner in 1997. She became a fellow of the IPA in 2008.

Commenting on her appointment, Maureen said: “It’s both my pleasure and my privilege to take up the position of President of the Association. I look forward to engaging in the debate about how to restore the UK’s position in the World Bank Insolvency Rankings when the government consults on this later this year. I am also keen to engage with our membership and to ensure that the Association offers them the support they need at a challenging time for Insolvency Professionals.”

Commenting on the appointment, the IPA’s CEO David Kerr added: “Maureen has served on a number of IPA committees and Council, and her practice experience in firms of varying sizes, and current focus on the needs of modest-sized practices, will ensure the Association’s members are well represented in the year ahead throughout the UK as the profession faces challenges of a commercial and regulatory nature.”
