|Volt MD Richard Herring Re-elected to APSCo|
|Tuesday, 19 April 2016|
The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) has named Richard Herring, Managing Director of Volt’s Europe and Asia operations, as an elected member of the APSCo Representative Committee.
Richard has previously served three elected terms on the committee, including a term as Committee Chairman in 2009, and is honoured to once again be chosen by his peers to represent the interests of members.
Marilyn Davidson, a Director at APSCo, said, “Richard Herring has been a tremendous contributor to the APSCo Representative Committee and we are extremely pleased that he has been voted back for a second term. His experience and insight has been invaluable and we look forward to continuing to work with him to help us navigate the challenges we face as we continue to grow. ”
The committee represents the Staffing industry by advising government departments on legislative matters, as well as meeting with other relevant parties and executive officers.
Richard says, “First of all I’m honoured to be elected, I am very mindful of the responsibility I have to my peers and the industry generally in this role.
“I have always believed that what we do really matters. W e influence people’s lives, whether they are a client or a candidate, so working to the highest ethical standards is essential. I am honoured to once again contribute to APSCo’s work in promoting our industry to UK plc, the Government and to wider geographies.
“At a time of ongoing legislative change and a somewhat uncertain market, and the expansion of APSCo’s work internationally, it’s going to be a particularly interesting time to work with the committee.
“From a personal point of view, I believe the very serious skills shortages in many of the markets that APSCo represents will present increasingly difficult challenges to organisations. This is an opportunity for our industry and I welcome the chance to influence how we tackle these skills shortages to everyone’s benefit.”
