Shoosmiths appoints industry leader in recoveries services to drive forward ambitious growth plan PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 02 March 2016

National law firm Shoosmiths is building upon their successful Recoveries Services Group (RSG) with the appointment of consultant, Stephen Allinson, who will support the firm in its strategy to become the leading recoveries litigation operation in the UK.

Stephen will be responsible for continuing the growth of recoveries services for corporate and business clients including the set up and management of a new volume insolvency recoveries service at the firm.

He began his legal career at Clarke Wilmott where he spent 25 years developing their debt recovery and insolvency team into a leading national practice. He joins Shoosmiths from Lester Aldridge, where he has practised as a consultant solicitor for the last four years. As well as being a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner, his specialisms also include contentious and bulk debt collection, and Stephen has recently written a definitive book on all aspects of enforcement

Stephen was appointed a non-executive board member of The Insolvency Service in 2015 and he regularly lectures and presents on all areas of credit, debt and insolvency issues . Stephen has built a solid reputation as an industry leader and expert in recoveries services.

Shoosmiths head of recoveries services, Waine Mannix, said: 'Steve is hugely respected in the industry and we are extremely pleased to welcome him to Shoosmiths. Our RSG team is going from strength to strength and his appointment will be instrumental in continuing this growth and diversifying our service offering to help us realise our ambition of becoming the leading national recoveries litigation service.’

Stephen said of his appointment: ‘Shoosmiths has an excellent reputation for client service and it’s an exciting time to join the award winning RSG team as they grow their recoveries services in line with client demand for their specialist legal expertise. I look forward to working with them on a number of initiatives to expand their offering in this area.’

Shoosmiths Recoveries Services Group provides a complete range of debt recovery services utilising cutting edge technology and with specialists dealing with all debt types, operating under a centralised management structure and within a national conduct risk and operating framework.

The Legal 500 directory has ranked Shoosmiths in the top tier for Recoveries Services across the East and West Midlands, London, Manchester and the South East. Shoosmiths was named 'UK Law Firm of the Year' at Legal Week's British Legal Awards 2015.
