Bibby Financial Services strengthens its Southern sales team with new appointments PDF Print E-mail

The UK’s largest independent invoice finance provider, Bibby Financial Services (BFS), has appointed Lisa Peters as Business Development Manager and Stuart Lee as Business Development Executive for the South.


Lisa joins BFS with over 15 years’ of experience in the invoice financing industry, with extensive knowledge of providing facilities for businesses with turnover between £500,000 to £25 million.

Prior to BFS, she held the position of Business Development Manager with HSBC for over four years, responsible for providing funding solutions for existing clients, as well as seeking opportunities with prospective clients. Lisa also has extensive operational experience within the invoice finance industry, with over seven years’ experience in credit control. A strong manager, Lisa co-managed a team of 23 credit controllers and managed a portfolio of over 300 clients. She has also delivered training courses for over 100 credit controllers and the payments administration team at HSBC. In her new role at BFS, Lisa will look after small business clients in Surrey and North Sussex, including Redhill, Crawley, Horsham and Brighton.

Commenting on her new appointment, Lisa said: “After 15 years at HSBC Invoice Finance, I was keen to explore other opportunities in the growing independent market. Not only is BFS a market leader in terms of funding SMEs through the strong relationships it builds with clients and intermediaries, it is also a fantastic place to work.

“I’m delighted to join BFS at a time where we are growing our presence in the UK and look forward to working with local businesses and intermediaries alike.”

Lisa will be based from the Redhill offices in Surrey which opened in March 2015.

Nick Carter, Head of Sales for Bibby Financial Services’ Southern sales team said: “Lisa is a highly skilled financing expert, who has worked on both sides of the fence – both on the operational side delivering training to credit controllers and on the sales side serving UK businesses. With her extensive experience of offering tailored cashflow advice to businesses, strong intermediary connections and customer-focused values, she is a natural fit with the Bibby ethos.”

From December 2014 to December 2015, the specialist funder increased funding to businesses in the South London region from £19.5 million to £25.7 million, an increase of almost a third (32%).

Nick added: “We’ve significantly grown our presence in the South of England over the past 12 months, but there’s still more we can do to support local businesses and their advisors. With Lisa on board, we are well-positioned to grow our funding support in the area even further.”

In addition to Lisa’s appointment, BFS also welcomes Stuart Lee to the Southern team as Business Development Executive. Stuart’s previous roles have been with Dollar Finance and Read Business Information.

On his new role, Stuart commented, “Bibby Financial Services has an excellent reputation, and I feel very fortunate to be taking up a position with a Times Best Companies employer”.

Nick Carter added: “We are always on the lookout for new talent, and pride ourselves on investing in young professionals who show excellent potential in the financial services sector. Stuart has shown this already and we are very much looking forward to watching him further develop into his new role”.

The BFS Southern Team will also be hosting a charity event to take place on the 15th March, for children’s charity Childline. Over 300 people are expected to attend the Champion’s day event at The Folley, London.
