|Tuesday, 12 January 2016|
Shoosmiths’ award winning recoveries services practice group has appointed a head of compliance to support its market leading position.
Hedley Harrison has joined the national law firm’s recoveries services practice group (RSG) to provide pragmatic and commercial regulatory support and guidance to the business and its clients. Hedley will continue to ensure RSG’s working practices are compliant with relevant FCA and other associated financial services regulation.
Hedley joins from life and pensions provider Diligenta Limited where he was head of compliance, responsible for implementing and developing compliance strategy and frameworks in line with regulatory requirements. He also provided direct regulatory guidance, consultancy support and project management to all areas of the business. Previous to that, Hedley held roles at insurance, life and pensions outsource services provider SERCO Listening Company Limited and NationwideBuilding Society.
Shoosmiths head of recoveries services group, Waine Mannix, said: ‘It’s a pleasure for us to welcome Hedley to Shoosmiths.
‘It’s an exciting time for us as we have applied as a firm for FCA Authorisation. The firm’s Director of Quality and Risk Alison Matthews and Hedley will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Shoosmiths continue to deliver the exceptional advice and client service for which it has been recognised.’
Hedley said: ‘I’m very pleased to be joining Shoosmiths’ RSG team at such an exciting time. Shoosmiths is well known as a leading provider of legal advice in the recoveries market, and has had a fantastic run of awards in 2015 for its client service.’
