1st Credit launches pioneering customer benefit programme PDF Print E-mail

1st Credit, the UK’s most ethical debt purchase and collection company, has launched a customer benefits programme, an industry-first. 


The My Benefits website provides customers free access to retail discounts and cashback offers at some of the UK’s largest retailers. The programme is the most recent initiative from 1st Credit to help customers manage their finances, by reducing their essential expenditure on things like their weekly grocery shop at retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury and Iceland, and also provides access to local discounts from small independent retailers in their area. My Benefits is the most recent customer-facing initiative from a company that has put compliance at the heart of its operations, from customer outreach to employee training. 1st Credit holds frequent feedback sessions with customers to better understand the initiatives that will help them reach their ‘debt free day’. My Benefits also provides a wide range of wellbeing information, including links to free money advice organisations, free credit reports, discounted gyms, free eye tests and more.

My Benefits has been developed in conjunction with People Value, who have developed the website and will manage the customer services related to the programme.

Eddie Nott, CEO of 1st Credit, commented on the new programme: “We are delighted to announce the launch of our new customer benefits programme, which we believe will make a real difference to customers across the country. We know how difficult it can be to cut back on day-to-day expenses, and we want to reward and help our customers by offering discounts in some of the biggest retailers across the country. By making everyday expenses a little easier, we want to help our customers reach their debt-free-day”.

The new programme caps a year of successful new initiatives launched by 1st Credit to cultivate its long-term relationships with customers. The company recently introduced its Query Management System (QMS) technology, which has reduced average response times to customer queries and disputes by 16%. In July 2015, 1st Credit was accredited the top, three-star rating for its ‘Exceptional’ customer service by Investor in Customers (IIC) for the second year running, becoming one of the first debt purchase companies to receive this accreditation. 1st Credit also became an Associate Subscriber to the Lending Code.

The My Benefits programme launched on 22nd December 2015 in pilot form to selected customers with plans to roll out the programme to customers across the country in 2016.
