Comment in response to CML's gross lending figures PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 20 November 2015

John Phillips, national operations director at Just Mortgages says, “It is promising to see that the latest figures show that gross mortgage lending is continuing on an upward trajectory.

“As a result of stronger mortgage lending activity in quarter three of this year, which is higher than in the previous two quarters, it is apparent that both the pace of recovery and housing market sentiment is strengthening at a steady pace.

“Strong wage growth and competitive mortgage deals are clearly supporting this recovery and, with gross mortgage lending at its highest since 2008, the CML’s prediction of exceeding its forecast of £209bn seems more than likely.”
