CSA registered to deliver part funded training for LEP Skills Service PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 12 August 2015

The Credit Services Association (CSA), the voice of the UK debt collection industry, has become registered to deliver training for the LEP skills service.

Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has launched a service that provides skills support to small and medium sized businesses. The LEP skills service helps businesses to identify their skills needs based on their business growth objectives and then find the right training solution.

Small and medium sized business based in the Leeds City Region that have a budget to put towards training could be eligible for funding of between £500 and £50,000

The types of training courses that could be eligible for the Skills Fund include training towards the CSA’s Level 3 Diploma for the Debt Collection Industry and its Level 5 Diploma in Compliance Risk Management. But it would also include other training priorities, as Fiona Macaskill, Head of Learning and Development at the CSA explains

"The LEP skills service enables you to source and finance training that your business may need," she comments. "Grants of between £500 up to an incredible £50,000 are available to eligible businesses, and accessing the LEP skills service couldn't be easier."

This latest announcement is part of a strategic plan from the CSA to provide a dedicated learning and development 'pathway' for those working in the credit services industry, from apprentices through to more experienced professionals.

It was recently successful in its bid with the Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM) to develop an Advanced Credit Control & Debt Collection Trailblazer Apprenticeship standard, and is also looking at how it continues to evolve its Collector Accreditation Initiative (CAI) in relation to its Level 2 Qualification, so that one more directly supports the other.
