National law firm Shoosmiths has bolstered its recoveries and finance litigation expertise with the appointment of partner and leading Midlands litigator Mark Elder and associate, Rebekah Finch.

Mark and Rebekah both join Shoosmiths from Irwin Mitchell, where Mark was head of the Birmingham dispute resolution and litigation department, which included finance litigation.

Mark brings considerable experience in advising a wide range of lenders in a variety of complex disputes including fraud, restrictive covenant and confidentiality issues, asset recovery and high value professional negligence claims against professional advisors including solicitors, valuers, intermediaries and auditors. Mark also has considerable experience of seeking urgent injunctive relief, including advice relating to search and seize, freezing injunctions/orders, dawn raids and acting as court appointed supervisor on Search Orders.

Rebekah has extensive experience in representing lender clients in relation to professional negligence claims and restrictive covenant and confidentiality issues.

Mark said: “Both Rebekah and I are delighted to be part of Shoosmiths, a leading national law firm with a market leading recoveries and finance litigation practice. The fact that they are renowned for their exceptional client service, recognised by both clients and major publications, fits extremely well with mine and Rebekah’s practices and the clients we advise.”

National head of recoveries services Waine Mannix, said: “Mark and Rebekah are both well-respected and their appointments demonstrate the type of high quality recruitment that we are undertaking in order to enhance our services and bolster our market position. I am very pleased that Mark and Rebekah chose to join us. Their appointments add significantly to our existing national recoveries and finance litigation offering.”
