Damian Young Appointed as Managing Director EMEA for Nomis Solutions PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 21 July 2015

Nomis Solutions Inc. is delighted to announce the appointment of Damian Young as Managing Director, Nomis Europe Ltd (EMEA).

Damian will be responsible for the successful leadership and management of the rapidly growing EMEA business. His remit will include client management and services, strategic direction, planning and execution including expansion plans in the EMEA market.

Damian joined Nomis Solutions in 2014 as Director of Banking and has over 25 years of banking experience, holding positions such as Head of Deposits and Transactional Banking, Head of Customer Management & Customer Analytics and Head of Small Business Banking. His leadership of these businesses, his deep understanding of banking and significant contribution to Nomis Solutions in the past 15 months equips him to lead the next phase of Nomis’ ambitious business expansion plans in the European Market.

Frank Rohde, CEO at Nomis Solutions, commented:

“Banks face the challenge of answering incoming regulation, new market entrants and taking advantage of a future interest rate increase. Nomis couples cutting edge technology with experiential insight to help banks answer these challenges. Damian’s extensive experience and understanding of these challenges allow us to further bridge our solutions with practical and strategic understanding. I am delighted to appoint Damian as Managing Director to lead the charge on what’s becoming an increasing imperative to banks”.

Within Bank of Ireland, Damian led the bank’s deposits and transactional banking strategy from 2011 to 2014 at the height of the financial crisis in Ireland, delivering balance sheet growth and stability as well as the management of the interest rate cycle and return to profitability. Since joining Nomis in 2014, Damian has overseen the strategic review of the European business, established a highly qualified team to execute strategic plans, built strong banking-led relationships with existing clients and delivered on market development plans. With fundamental changes in banking in Europe, Nomis Solutions EMEA is now poised to scale its business and support progressive banks through its market leading technology, analytics and professional banking expertise.

According to Damian Young:

“The financial crisis of the last 7 years has changed banking fundamentally and, as banks enter the next phase of the economic cycle, they face a new set of challenges in meeting regulatory requirements, internal operational needs and technology demands. Progressive banks have started to partner or indeed outsource data and technology competencies to ensure they can focus on the optimal delivery of their core banking and financial services. I am excited to be part of this forward looking company and to be leading our expansion in Europe and beyond.”

Nomis Solution’s technology offering combines cutting-edge ‘Silicon Valley’ approaches to big data, advanced modelling, and deep analytics. This helps large and medium-sized retail banks better understand their customers. Using Nomis Solutions, these banks can deliver win-win products and pricing in an environment that is increasingly competitive, highly disruptive and marked by rising interest rates.
