Gareth Hughes appointed to CBI Public Services Strategy Board and awarded CICM Fellowship PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 08 July 2015

We are pleased to confirm that Gareth Hughes has been appointed to the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) Public Services Strategy Board.

Gareth has also just been awarded a Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM).

CBI Public Services Strategy Board

The CBI Public Services Strategy Board aims to provide constructive ideas to improve the performance of schools, hospitals, local government and other services. Its members are chief executives and leaders of private companies and social enterprises that are designing and providing a wide range of public services and support functions across the UK.

Marston Holdings joins organisations such as Capita, Accenture, HP, Atos and G4S on the Board, and aims to provide constructive input to the conversation in respect of rethinking how public services can operate more effectively and efficiently.

Marston believes that there are a number of innovative ways in which the private sector can work in partnership with government to improve delivery of public services at materially reduced cost for the taxpayer, whilst ensuring rigorous governance and ethical standards.

It brings judicial services knowledge and expertise, in particular, and notes the present government's manifesto commitment to continue with the modernisation of the Courts system.

A list of Board members can be found at http://www.cbi.org.uk/business-issues/public-services/public-services-and-business/public-services-strategy-board/

CICM Fellowship

CICM is Europe's largest professional association for the credit community, and Fellowship is its highest accolade.

Fellowship nominees must have:

• occupied a position of significant responsibility within credit management for at least seven years;
• made a notable contribution to the credit industry; and
• increased the regard or recognition accorded to the credit profession.

CICM Chief Executive, Philip King, commented that:

“I am delighted to welcome Gareth to CICM Fellowship. He has made an outstanding contribution to the credit profession over the last decade, and I look forward to his continued support of, and engagement with, the Institute.”
