Redwood SIP Technology Qualified to Voice-Enable Microsoft Lync PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 08 July 2015

Redwood’s SIP technology has been independently qualified for use with the Microsoft Lync Server 2013 Unified Communications (UC) platform.

Through bridging the gap between the IP-based Lync (now called Skype for Business) environment and the Public Switched Telephony Network (PSTN), Redwood’s SIP trunking enables organisations to experience the full benefits of Lync’s UC features, including internal Instant Messaging (IM), while making low-cost voice calls to both fixed and mobile destinations.

When deployed in conjunction with a RedContact Cloud Contact Centre solution, Lync can also be leveraged to intelligently deliver inbound communications across multiple channels, using factors such as agent availability within Lync as well as skills and personality matching to ensure that each enquiry is routed to the best possible resource.

In order to qualify for the accreditation, Redwood’s SIP trunking service underwent a series of rigorous tests to ensure compliance with the Microsoft Unified Communications Open Interoperability Program (UCOIP) requirements.

Matthew Chadd, Senior Project Manager at Redwood, commented:

“Microsoft Lync is a leading UC solution with increasing adoption worldwide, and we’re delighted to have received the accreditation. Beyond enabling simple voice calls, the SIP connection allows us to carry out numerous integrations with our communications technology which add genuine value to Lync, whether through layering over multi-channel cloud contact centre logic or through delivering enhanced multi-channel reporting features.

“We look forward to seeing more of our clients take advantage of the vast array of possibilities that come from integrated Lync and Redwood solutions as the popularity of both continues to increase.”
