Callcredit announces appointment of new Chief Data Officer PDF Print E-mail

Callcredit Information Group, specialists in managing consumer data, has today announced the appointment of Mark Davison to the new role of Chief Data Officer.

Mark has worked for the group and its antecedents since 1997 and was instrumental in the establishment of Callcredit in 2001 as the challenger to the then UK duopoly in credit referencing. He has held a number of board level roles in IT, development and most recently in international corporate development. In his new role Mark will be responsible for increasing value from existing and new data assets across the globe - driving innovation back into market sectors and delivering world-class solutions.
 
This move is a reflection of the strategic priorities at Callcredit. It specifically addresses the requirement to enhance focus on data strategy, looking for new sources of data and new applications for the company’s existing assets to deliver value added services to its customers, both corporate and consumer, in the UK and internationally.
 
Commenting on Marks appointment Mike Gordon, CEO, Callcredit said: “I am delighted that Mark has accepted the challenge of this unique role. We have a hard won reputation for delivering innovation to the markets we serve. Mark has played a big part in that to date.

Davison commented:  “The world does not lack for data. I see my role as primarily focused on accessing the most relevant data that will help our customers to engage confidently in the digital economy.  When I started here we built our expertise in consumer data for sales and marketing. As Callcredit we leveraged that knowledge to innovate in the provision of credit risk, affordability and fraud services.
 
“I am very excited as I look at the opportunity to take a more holistic view of how we can create innovative ways to build our data resources to help enable smarter decisions for business and consumers alike.”
