Scott & Co joins Marston Holdings PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 16 June 2015

Marston Holdings is pleased to announce that Scott & Co and AA Hutton have joined the Group.

Scott & Co is the largest collection and enforcement business in Scotland, and AA Hutton is a long established collection and enforcement firm that is headquartered in Perth.

Scott & Co has contracts with the leading Scottish local authorities, including Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. It also works on behalf of a wide range of solicitors and businesses, executing warrants and orders emanating from the Courts of Scotland and from civil courts worldwide.

The two businesses have 275 staff, including 46 Sheriff Officers/Messengers-at-Arms, and operate from a network of 13 offices across Scotland.

The transaction creates a UK judicial services Group of circa 2,000 staff and contractors.

David and Joy McLaughlin remain in their current roles, and are very supportive of the new ownership. David commented that:

“Becoming part of Marston Holdings was a natural decision for us. We are well matched in terms of ethical standards, reputation and our leading positions in our respective marketplaces. Our commitment to our clients and to the provision of local services remains.

"Our existing management teams and staff will continue to deliver service excellence from our established office network and to play a key part in the future growth of our business. This is an exciting chapter in our development, enabling us to extend our range of services to our clients.”

Marston now works on behalf of 265 local authorities across the UK, as well as for Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs, Her Majesty’s Courts & Tribunals Service, the Legal Aid Agency, the Child Maintenance Group, DVLA, Transport for London, the Highways Agency and the Student Loans Company.

Marston, which was awarded the Investors in People Gold Standard last month, will extend the remit of its independent Advisory Group to cover the enlarged Group.
