Hampshire Trust Bank, the specialist challenger bank, has announced the appointment of two new Business Development Managers in its Asset Finance team.

Nigel Hanwell, who has more than 25 years’ experience in finance and banking, will focus on building new broker relationships in the north of England and Scotland while Colin Bailey, who has 20 years’ experience in the finance and automotive industries, will focus on building broker relationships in the south of England.
Hampshire Trust Bank’s Asset Finance team are specialists in both hire purchase and leasing, typically managing deals ranging from £5k to £200k, offering finance for cars and light commercial vehicles for business or private use, as well as a range of plant and machinery.
Talking about why he decided to join the bank, Nigel, who lives in Pudsey, West Yorkshire, said: “I was looking for a new challenge. Hampshire Trust Bank recently celebrated its first anniversary and being able to join the bank near the start of its journey was too good an opportunity to miss.
“We work with broking firms of all sizes, from sole traders to larger organisations, brokers looking to write quality business. There is an appetite for another finance provider and Hampshire Trust Bank provides the right offerings and service levels. We pride ourselves on our quick turnaround on proposals and payments and recognise how important speed and service are to brokers.”
Colin, who lives in Maidenbower, West Sussex, said: “I was impressed by the Asset Finance team’s positive attitude and its focus on providing an exceptional service. I am looking forward to helping increase brand awareness and bringing on board new finance brokers who have the appetite to arrange funding for a multitude of assets to a variety of end users.”
Mark Ford, Director of Asset Finance, said: “Our Asset Finance division is going from strength to strength. We are delighted to welcome Nigel and Colin on board. They are both extremely experienced and are important additions to our growing team.
“At Hampshire Trust Bank we offer swift and efficient proposal and completion turnarounds, and value strong, long-term relationships with our intermediaries. These appointments will enable us to continue to build on what is an encouraging time for us.”
