Lovetts launches new LBA email service - increasing response rates by non-payers PDF Print E-mail

Slashing the usual response time to a Letter Before Action (LBA) issued by post, Lovetts, the commercial debt recovery law firm has launched a new ‘LBA by Email’ service.  In the pilot phase of the new service, Lovetts found debtors typically respond to the email in a matter of minutes rather than days, dramatically speeding the collection process for customers.

An LBA is a formal letter which sets out what is owed from a debtor and gives the debtor a set time period (usually 7 days) in which to pay. Before issuing any legal proceedings a LBA must be sent or costs may be forfeited. The new service from Lovetts means clients can opt to issue an email LBA for as little as £1.50 plus VAT, putting the demand for payment straight into a company’s inbox.
 
“This new service harnesses email technology to get the best results for its clients at a cost effective price. Lovetts is already seeing debtors act quicker on receiving an LBA via email.  One invoice was settled within four minutes of it being sent,” explains Michael Higgins, Operations Director of Lovetts. “Businesses operate online and via email more than ever now and we’re responding to this with our own LBA by Email service.
 
“Late payments are a major issue for UK businesses and can really cripple a firm, but too many wait too long, leaving their cash flow in dire straits. Businesses shouldn’t delay in following up an unpaid invoice and by issuing an LBA it will help prompt a customer to pay up, in a bid to fight against late payment. We can now help more businesses act early on overdue invoices and send a clear message straight to the inboxes of late payers, making it harder for them to ignore.”
