StepChange Debt Charity responds to FCA warning on debt-management firms PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 21 May 2015

Following today’s announcement by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) that debt management firms Sterling Financial Security Ltd, Haydon Associates Debt Management Consultants Ltd and Clear View Finance Ltd will no longer be permitted to offer debt management services to customers, StepChange Debt Charity Chief Executive Mike O’Connor said:

“This will no doubt be a stressful and upsetting time for clients of these companies who were trying to pay off their debts in good faith. It is crucial that clients of these firms take action quickly to find out what the best route forward is. Our advice to those affected is to get free and independent advice as soon as possible.”
Those affected can contact StepChange Debt Charity directly on 0800 138 1111 (8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday and 8am to 4pm Saturday) or visit our website.
The Money Advice Service has information for those affected by the closure of debt-management firms at or on the phone 0300 330 2222.
