Civica set to improve council tax recovery using Destin Solutions technology PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 21 May 2015

Going from strength to strength, Local Authority technology specialists Destin Solutions Limited has just announced that Civica has become a main distributor of their Business Intelligence (BI) software in the UK. Civica will be selling OPENView, a highly specialised reporting and analytics tool, customised to meet the needs of local authorities seeking smarter ways to recover debt.

Civica, a market leader in specialist systems and business process services that helps organisations transform the way they work, identified a need amongst customers for a tool to help drive better recovery and collection rates. Taking extracts from virtually any data source, including council tax, benefits, housing and sundry debtor systems, managers can gain a single view of their debt using Civica’s OPENView product to produce detailed real time reports at the touch of a button.

Local Authorities have a wealth of data at their fingertips and OPENView will consolidate that data producing custom reports that help identify how teams and individuals are performing against targets, areas for improvement and how to maximise debt collection in areas like council tax recovery. At a more strategic level OPENView can be used as a tool to help Councils better forward plan and forecast future income, based on real data and not just what has been recovered historically.

Civica’s customers will be able to produce liability reports at the touch of a button providing them with information on empty properties, exemptions, the number of live accounts they have and payment methods. Reports can also be quickly and easily prepared for councillors requesting the specifics around their particular ward or parish, delivering more informed insight than ever before.

Rachel Brier, Operations Director of Civica commented “The OPENView product gives the customer an insight into the council’s collection and debt recovery performance and gets you there quickly and intuitively. As a specialist in delivering public sector technology at Civica we believe that the product powered by Destin Solutions is one of the best performance management tools on the market.”

Duncan Baxter, Director at Destin Solutions adds “We are delighted that Civica has selected our software, to provide to their customer base. It’s great to work with like-minded companies who understand the importance of presenting information in a simple and usable format that can make a real impact on the decisions an authority makes going forward.”
