Debt recovery solicitors win award for work in local community PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 19 May 2015

Debt recovery law firm, Bennett Williams Solicitors, have won an award for voluntary work they have undertaken in the local community.  On 15 May 2015, they were named as winners of the Work in the Community Award at the Liverpool Law Society Legal Awards 2015, which took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

The awards, which were hosted by BBC Merseyside broadcaster, Roger Phillips, are a celebration of legal talent in Merseyside and Bennett Williams were recognised for contributions they have made to a free legal advice clinic at the University of Liverpool and to Birkenhead-based charity, Women’s Enterprising Breakthrough.

The independent panel of judges commented: “Bennett Williams Solicitors is a relatively new, specialist law firm. They impressed the judges with their commitment to working with the local community across a range of activities, including pro bono work, supervising local law students, community advice, fundraising, donations and trusteeships. They have extensive links with charities and social enterprise activities, providing, in particular, a broad range of valuable assistance to underprivileged and vulnerable females in the local community.”

Richard Bennett, Partner at Bennett Williams, said: “It is an honour and a privilege to win this award. As an organisation, we realise that we have a responsibility to put something back into the community and it is humbling to receive this sort of recognition for our efforts.  We would like to offer our congratulations to all of those firms and individuals who were shortlisted and thank Liverpool Law Society for organising an excellent event.”

Bennett Williams were also shortlisted in the category of ‘Small Law Firm of the Year’ and Managing Partner, Gaynor Williams, was a finalist in the category of ‘Solicitor of the Year’.
