Merligen use Callcredit’s Retriever for improved tracing PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 14 May 2015

Merligen Investments is the latest company to use Callcredit Information Group‘s online tracing facility, Retriever.

The debt purchaser uses litigation extensively to recover non-performing accounts and as such required a solution that could improve the accuracy of their residency data.

Retriever uses a simple single search entry box similar to that utilised by popular search engines, making it easier for the trace agent to copy and paste the information they know into a single field. The tool then uses elastic search technology to capture not only exact matches but similar individuals, allowing for tracing agents to make more informed decisions.

By using Retriever, Merligen has access to the most accurate and current residency data available and are able to re-validate this information at any stage during the collections process. This has ensured that Merligen are able to contact the customer at their current address and if contact is lost, it can easily be re-established.

As a result Merligen has not only increased its contact rates and therefore recoveries, but also hold increased confidence that its communications are going to the correct address helping to reduce  contact with non-related parties.

Simon Jones, Managing Director at Merligen commented: “When I set up Merligen Investments I had used Callcredit for a number of years whilst running Fredrickson International and was always happy with the service they provided. Retriever is a unique product and one that the industry has needed for some time. From both a compliance and recoveries perspective it is an essential tool for collection agencies”

Laura Harrison, Business Development Manager for Callcredit added: “Traditional tracing tools leave agents having to enter information in multiple input fields, which is not only repetitive but also inefficient. Retriever is a distinctively different product in the market place and helps to reduce the number of mis-traces, which could potentially cause customer detriment. We’re pleased a forward thinking company such as Merligen has taken the decision to use Retriever and look forwards to developing our relationship further with them”.
