Lloyds Bank bolsters its London and South Mid Markets division with two new senior appointments PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 05 May 2015

Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking has reinforced its commitment to medium sized businesses with the appointment of Rebecca Wicks as relationship director, and Gavin Potter as business development director.

Working from the bank’s office in Gatwick, Wicks and Potter will be servicing the needs of Lloyds Bank’s growing portfolio of mid-market enterprises in the region. As Lloyds Bank looks to support more businesses across London and the South, both will play a leading role in delivering financial solutions to new customers.

The senior appointments follow another successful year for the bank, with the Mid Markets division increasing its net lending in the region during 2014.

This expansion is part of the bank’s on-going commitment to mid-market businesses, with annual turnover between £25-100million. Employing 4.2 million people across the country and having contributed £270billion to the UK’s economy in 2014, medium sized businesses play a vital role in driving economic growth.

Rebecca joins from Lloyds Bank Trade Finance, where she was director of trade sales. She brings over 10 years’ experience in corporate banking, having previously worked at Barclays and Europe Arab Bank. She will help lead the team’s offering to mid-market firms in Kent, playing a major role in supporting Lloyds Bank’s customers in the county and introducing clients to the bank’s specialist expertise when required.

Rebecca Wicks, relationship director at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “Mid-market businesses can be overshadowed by the big financial giants in the City and the glamour of budding entrepreneurs. Yet medium sized businesses are a driving force in our economy, playing a leading role in providing employment and innovation. I look forward to assisting these businesses by providing them with the support they need to grow.”

With 12 years of experience in business development, Gavin will be playing a leading role in developing and implementing growth opportunities with mid-market businesses across Kent, Surrey and Sussex. He brings a wealth of commercial experience to the role, having worked most recently at PwC as the head of business development and a number of listed businesses prior.

Gavin Potter, business development director, at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, added: “It is great to join Lloyds Bank at such an exciting time in the bank’s growth. The area is brimming with strong mid-market enterprises, from hardworking manufacturers to dynamic technology businesses. With Lloyds Bank, I know I have a team that can provide specialist expertise and bespoke financial solutions to them all.”
