Lloyds Bank strengthens global transaction division with new mid markets md PDF Print E-mail

Lloyds Bank, Commercial Banking has further strengthened its Global Transaction Banking division by appointing Kash Ahmad as its new Managing Director for Mid Markets.

Ahmad, who spent 21 years at Barclays Bank, latterly as MD of inward business for its Global Corporates division, will head the Bank’s 87-strong Trade Finance and Working Capital and its Cash Management businesses, providing transaction banking services, strategic advice, and funding solutions to businesses with a turnover of between £25m and £750m.    

He will report to Global Transaction Banking client coverage Managing Director, Donald Kerr.

Commenting on Ahmad’s appointment, Kerr said: “We are committed to being the best global transaction bank to help our customers grow in the UK and trade internationally.

“To do that, we are getting to know our key clients more closely, understanding their expectations for growth and supporting them in an increasingly solution-led way.

“Kash’s experience in working closely with clients is a key part of that and his appointment, together with that of a number of senior hires that we have invested in, is already ensuring we deliver the best support to assist customers grow and develop their businesses.”

Ahmad, whose previous roles at Barclays included roles in Pakistan and Dubai before returning to the UK as MD of its UK cash origination business, including global corporates and Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFI), added: “This is an ambitious business with a strong focus on growing by putting customers’ needs at the heart of everything it does.

“British businesses are currently seeing a range of opportunities to grow and need holistic support to help them achieve their ambitions.

“By delivering a diverse selection of bespoke funding options ranging from trade and invoice finance to payment and cash management, we can meet all their working capital requirements and help them grow both in existing and potential new markets.”

Ahmad’s appointment is part of Lloyds Banks’ strategy to continue growing its Global Transaction Banking business.

Lloyds’ Global Transaction Banking division provides payments, liquidity management, working capital and short-term financing to business clients, as well as core banking services to help clients grow, both domestically and internationally, through trade finance, cash management, invoice and asset finance.
