Davenham shows intent by snapping up Richard Bamford PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 16 April 2015

Central Manchester based Davenham Asset Finance and Davenham Trade Finance are pressing ahead with major growth plans by appointing Richard Bamford as Non-Executive Chairman to both businesses. This is hot on the heels of the recent appointment of two new Business Development Managers to open up opportunities for a national sales team.

Best known as the Founding Chairman of Enterprise Ventures, the Northwest based venture capital management business, Richard has spent recent times working independently advising SMEs, and has been now snapped up by Davenham to steer both companies to growth. Richard is a well-known entrepreneur and financier, particularly across the Northwest region.

Commenting upon his appointment, Richard Bamford says: “Davenham is an exciting business opportunity in a high growth market, and I am delighted to be working with Paul Burke and Heather Robinson to further develop and diversify the business. As a result of the banking crisis, many viable UK based SMEs are still finding it difficult to attract bank funding, and Davenham offers attractive alternative lending options as lease, hire purchase and trade finance.”

After just a year since its launch, Davenham’s team is set to expand further with sales and operations appointments, to tackle the increasing number of funding enquiries from brokers across the country. This has been helped with major global financial institutions coming on board, as well as the business being shortlisted in two categories at the prestigious Credit Today Awards 2015.

Paul Burke, Chief Executive of Davenham concludes: “Recognising a market opportunity and SME demand for finance, we started Davenham last year, and have since established ourselves firmly in the market, having already written significant business. 2014 has been a sensational year for Davenham, and following our appointment of Richard as a proven business builder to join the Board, we are confident that we will deliver on our growth objectives.”
