CML News & Views: Housing and politics PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 02 April 2015

We are still waiting for most of the manifestos, but each of the parties has already said a great deal about their housing proposals.  In today’s issue of CML News & Views, we round it all up in a neat summary.

It’s a myth, however, to think that there is a single “UK housing market” – and a uniform set of problems and solutions.  To illustrate the point, we look at the contrasting market conditions in each of the party leaders’ constituencies.  You might be surprised at the scale of the differences.
Rounding up our political coverage, we take a look at the CML’s own housing manifesto – and what it advocates for the young, the old, and those in between.
And as we anticipate her speech at the forthcoming CML annual lunch, we spend 60 seconds with housing economist Dame Kate Barker.
