Boost to equity investment should deliver productivity gains, says FSB PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 10 March 2015

Responding to a new report from the British Business Bank (BBB) that has found equity investment in small firms has more than doubled over the past three years, John Allan, National Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Chairman said:

“As was explored in a recent Small Business APPG report into productivity, the welcome rise in equity investment highlighted in this report could be important in delivering a positive dividend in small business productivity.

“It is widely recognised that equity finance can be a crucial enabler of high-growth businesses and should continue to be supported, for example through schemes such as the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme. We are therefore pleased the British Business Bank has recognised its role in promoting equity investment and hope it can assist more businesses to become ‘investment ready’ and attract equity investors.”
