Marston Group’s Business Development moves up a gear

Alan Wood joins Marston Group as Business Development Manager from NCP Services where he recently successfully introduced civil parking enforcement in Eastbourne. With previous experience as an Enforcement Agent in the recovery of unpaid council tax, business rates and parking fines, Alan is ideally placed to work closely with local authorities to develop their recovery services across the board.

Over one million ''faster payments' made every day

On 27 May 2008, the payments industry introduced the first newpayments system for over 20 years - Faster Payments. This new service for phone, internet and standing order payments allows customers to make and receive internet and phone payments within a couple of hours, all day, every day, making 24-hour remote banking a reality, even over the Christmas holidays.

No hiding place in Europe for debtor companies

Debtor companies are set to be pursued across Europe following a shake-up in EU regulations. And the move, including small claims procedures, has been welcomed by Simon Trees, a partner and head of commercial dispute resolution at law firm Else Solicitors, which has offices in Birmingham and Burton on Trent.
