Lowell reveals results

Debt purchaser Lowell Group has reported an increase in profit and turnover over the last 12 months. In the financial year ended August 31, the group exceeded its financial targets with earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 20.6m, up 53.7% from 13.4m the previous year.

More than one fifth of GB households now struggling to keep up with their bills

A new 'debt tracker' poll has revealed 5 million households are struggling with their bills. The debt tracker, conducted by YouGov, asked how GB households are coping with the credit crunch. It revealed 5 million people, 21% of households, are now finding keeping up with bills a constant struggle or have fallen behind with their commitments.

Bailiffs forced to wear bullet-proof vests after attacks

Two east coast bailiffs are so worried about being attacked, they wear bullet-proof vests. The two self-employed bailiffs, Jon Burton and Dan McCubbin, work for local councils and have the power to seize people's possessions and cars for unpaid parking tickets in Southend and the surrounding areas.
