Cabot Credit Management Update on Intention on Float

Cabot Credit Management (Cabot), the UK’s leading credit management services provider, announces that it will not be proceeding with an initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange. The Board believes proceeding with the transaction would not be in the best interest of the company or its shareholders, given the current IPO and broader market conditions. Cabot will continue to deliver on its growth strategy and will re-consider an initial public offering at such time as market conditions become more supportive.

LGA respondes to Money Advice Trust report on council use of bailiffs

Responding to the Money Advice Trust’s report on councils using bailiffs, Cllr Claire Kober, Chair of the Local Government Association’s Resources Board, said:  “No council wants to ask people on the lowest incomes to pay more, but councils have a duty to their residents to collect taxes – these fund crucial services, such as caring for the elderly, protecting vulnerable children, keeping roads maintained and collecting bins. With councils facing a £5.8 billion funding shortfall by 2020, it’s essential that these funds are collected so these vital services can be protected.

Council bailiff use jumps 14 percent in two years
